Situated on the Great
Northern Peninsula on one of the few remaining near-wilderness
areas of Newfoundland, the 57 kilometers Main River flows from
the Long Range Mountains into White Bay, an arm of the Atlantic
Ocean. Its scenic environment is known for the great beauty and
serenity of Paradise Pool and Big Steady, marshy areas which
provide a home to myriad species of birds and plants, including
sizeable populations of moose and caribou.
